Created in 1964, this magnificent work is from the Twelve Maquettes of Stained Glass Windows for Jerusalem series. Numbered 82 from an edition of 150, this work is printed on Arches wove paper by Mourlot, and hand- signed by Marc Chagall (Vitebsk, 1887- Saint-Paul, 1985) in pencil in the lower right. The work was engraved by Charles Sorlier in collaboration with Marc Chagall. Chagall designed this series after the stain glass windows, he created for the synagogue of the Hadassah-Hebrew Medical Center located just outside of Jerusalem.
