Wishing Her Majesty The Queen a very happy 96th birthday today!

Britain’s beloved Queen Elizabeth II celebrates her 96th birthday in the same year that marks her 70 years on the throne.

The Queen ascended to the throne in 1952, making her both the longest-reigning British monarch and the longest-serving female head of state in history.

To celebrate the Platinum Jubilee, a number of events will take place throughout the UK over the year.
